Prayer Shawl Ministry

This ministry has grown immensely since its inception in January 2003.  Women of this church, and others from the community, meet once a month, on the fourth Thursday, to knit and crochet prayer shawls, and to consecrate the finished ones.  These shawls are available to anyone who needs their comfort.

We hope you will join us at our next meeting on Thursday, October 26th at 9:30 a.m. in the Social Room.

Pink is the color for breast cancer and October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We have several pink and pink tone shawlsthat would be appropriate for someone going through treatment or is a breast cancer survivor. Perhaps this is you! These shawls are available, along with the other shawls, in the room off of the Narthex.

You may have noticed that in 2016 we presented 125 prayer shawls and 8 lap robes. (We reached 1,000 shawls in 2015 and are now busy working on the next thousand.)

We are thankful for donations of money and yarn. It is most thoughtful for people to support our group.

Prayer shawls and "pocket" prayer shawls with a cross design are available in the room off of the Narthex. A card is provided and includes the prayer of blessing that we use at our meetings when we bless the shawls. Please take a shawl for a friend or perhaps for yourself.
