Hawkwing REMINDER
We are collecting gently used coats and jackets all year for the Lakota people in S. Dakota. There will be a container in the Narthex each Sunday. That way, as your children outgrow them you won’t have to store them until fall. Or maybe you got a new jacket or coat for Christmas and would like to donate your old one.
We will also be collecting any new items such as hats, mittens, sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc. that you are able to purchase for very little money. As always, we thank you for your generosity.

Open to the Whole Church, Program begins at 7:00 pm
(Brief Women’s Fellowship Business Meeting begins at 6:45 pm)
“Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971.
Today, MSF provides aid in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict <http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/aboutus/activities.cfm>, epidemics <http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/aboutus/activities.cfm>, malnutrition <http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/aboutus/activities.cfm>, exclusion from health care <http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/aboutus/activities.cfm>, or natural disasters <http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/aboutus/activities.cfm>. MSF provides independent, impartial assistance to those most in need. MSF reserves the right to speak out to bring attention to neglected crises, to challenge inadequacies or abuse of the aid system, and to advocate for improved medical treatments and protocols.
In 1999, MSF received the Nobel Peace Prize.”

Our 49th Farmhouse Fair will be held on November 5th and 6th this year. There are lots of opportunities for creating another successful Fair. Whatever your skills - crafting, sewing, knitting, baking, selling and more, all of us together make the Fair the special event that it is. Our 2010 Chairpeople will be happy to answer any questions and offer guidance or suggestions:

Judy White needs volunteers to help make quilted ornaments for the Not Just Quilts room.
We look forward to all of the fellowship and fun that goes along with the Fair.

Save Money on
Home Heating Oil
As many of you know, about 12 years ago the Trustees organized a small group of church members and their friends to buy home heating oil at below market prices. Our supplier, Andrews Oil of South Windsor, also agreed to a rebate for the church’s fuel account. The program has grown steadily and for the 2009-2010 heating season our group purchased over 39,000 gallons of oil and earned a rebate of about $1,900.
This is truly a win-win program. You’ll save money on oil and help the church at the same time. We are looking to expand our group again this year and would be pleased if you or your family, friends, neighbors, etc, would like to join us.
At this time we have been working with Andrews Oil on establishing pricing for the upcoming heating season. Prices have moved up and down a great deal over the past 60 days so we have held off until now.
Our pricing for August sign-ups is as follows:
1.Pre-Buy at $2.359 per gallon (Estimate your usage, pay in advance, lock in your price.)
2.Cap-Price at $2.459 per gallon (You pay the market price on the day of your delivery. Your price will never exceed $2.459 per gallon.)
ECC oil group members will be exempt from the usual buyer insurance fees. In-order to participate, signed agreement forms must be returned to Andrews Oil by August 31, 2010. We anticipate Andrews will offer a second program in September based on wholesale oil prices at that time.
Existing members and new folks are invited to participate in our program if they reside in the Andrews Oil delivery area and meet Andrews Oil credit requirements. Please call me with any questions or if you wish to enroll.
